Modern city gate.
The conversion of the former regional military administration office originated from the city's need to resolve the lack of parking places near the historical centre of the town of Kroměříž, near the Castle Garden and Archbishop's Palace, and near the Flower Garden (a UNESCO Heritage site). Thus, this area will be the first encounter with the city for many visitors.
The project envisages a new two-floor parking house (with 137 parking spaces) and conversion of the existing five-floor building that used to serve as a guesthouse into council housing (29 mostly small-sized apartments) with a police station on the ground floor. The project will also include a small information centre with a café, and all its components will lead into the entrance square fringed by an arcade and finished with a fountain and a full-grown sycamore tree.
