The main idea behind the project was to turn the mono-functional, fragmented town into a modern urban space, to create a place for pleasant living without spatial conflict. The most important step was to revitalize and complete the unfinished town centre project conceived in the first third of the 20th century and brought to life by a local entrepreneur Baťa. While respecting the original ambitious project it was necessary to introduce functional features and services that fulfil the spatial and housing needs for contemporary town life.
