Křižanovice is a small municipality with approximately 750 inhabitants. It is located halfway between Slavkov u Brna and Bučovice. The football club is situated in its northeast part, between the railway and Litava creek. The two-floor object functions as a club facility and at the same time it has become a new community centre of the village where not only football matches are played but other sport, cultural and social events can be organized, as well. The object is conceived as a simple spatial play of three elementary volumes – two ground prisms and a roof whose mutual shifting creates dynamic relations and interesting spaces. Prisms, corresponding in color with the local football club, include locker rooms for players and referees, a buffet, a clubroom, and complete technical facilities of the area. On top of the bigger red prism, there is an auditorium for 120 spectators covered with a light steel construction and trapezoidal polycarbonate. The building was nominated for the Mies van der Rohe Award in 2007.
