A protected national heritage object of a former meat market hall from the end of the 19th century, located right next to the historic centre of Olomouc, currently serves as a cheap textile store, butchery shop, grocery shop, and sport bar. Now, the house should be used as a commercial unit selling branded clothing. The basic theme of the renovation is to clean out the modern inferior layers and to enlarge retail space by inserting one floor that is designed as an independent object of a gallery supported by wide columns, set-off the peripheral structure. The interior is opened into the original subtle roof structure finished with a large skylight. The main vertical connection is provided by wide newel stairs that represent a significant creative element in an otherwise purposely austere interior. All modifications are designed with respect to the historic value of the object.
