Three-floor brick cuboid vertically fixed into a steep slope with southeast orientation and beautiful view. Compact mass of the house is cut out in each floor in order to create a form providing suitable conditions regarding the operation, lighting and orientation. Garage, storage and technical spaces are situated in the basement. Upper floors are habitable with connection to the garden. Sociable part is situated upstairs – living space with kitchen – and in the last upper floor there are parent’s and children’s bedrooms and study room. There is also reconstructed object of a former cabin on the parcel which is used as an occasional accommodation for guests.
House Kuřim 01 received honorable mention in ARCHITECTURE GRAND PRIX 2010 in category of family houses. It has been published in magazine [Architekt 11 12 2009] and was included in 20 Most Beautiful Czech Houses – the selection of detached family houses constructed in last 20 years published in Hospodářské noviny – magazine Proč ne?!
